Blog

I just ordered a copy of my blog from 2011 so I can pass it on to the kids some day. When I ordered my blog from 2010 the boys and I had fun sitting down and reading some of it and being reminded of the things we had written in there. I would've liked to have ordered it in color but its 3x the price of black and white. Geesh. But I will be so happy to get it in the mail. What a treasure. I wish I had started writing down my stories when they were born. But better late then never!

My dog

So my 5yr old tells me (as we are walking with the dog) that he is glad he is not a dog because they don't get much water. They have to lick the water out of their bowl and they don't get much. He knows this because he has done it. So I say "you didn't try this out of the dogs bowl right?" He says NO MOM! Just checking!

Started my day off with a massage that the boys had bought me for my bday ages ago. Then B had a great game tonight. He

got a few outs at 1st base, and had a homerun and a triple. They won so now they are 5-2. Then we had dinner with the other coaches and family. 13 of us in all. Great day.

Fly ball catch

M had a great fly ball catch at 2nd tonight and then a throwout at 1st base after a great stop. Very proud of him. He was grinning ear to ear. His Dad luckily had just gotten there so he was able to see it too.

Thursday

B and I went on his field trip to a farm. He was really excited and said, "thanks mom for coming to my fieldtrip." He's such a cutie. Then we went to visit Nanoo.

Thoughts of an almost 6yr old

I picked the boys up from school and first thing B says to me is "We get to go on a field trip tomorrow!" So I said , "Are you excited?" and he says, "I hope I don't think about it." I said, "why?" He says, "Because it makes the time go by slower." : ) So true!

I had a wonderful lunch with my Dad today. It was so nice to sit and talk to him. He told me alot of stories from his youth like when he hit a homerun over the fence and when he hit a grandslam. Then he taught M his first guitar lesson and gave him his guitar to use that he has had for years. I remember my Dad trying to teach me as a kid but I had no musical talent whatsoever. M has alot. He picks up on the piano so fast that maybe he will pick up on the guitar fast too. He's been wanting to learn. So my Dad bought him a book and gave him a lesson to practice till the next time he sees him. My mom is so sweet. Here today is her bday and she gets me two sets of work scrubs as a "no day" gift. I love that she taught me years ago about "no day" gifts. So sweet.

A typical day in our house

Work, pick kids up from school, kids haircuts, home, homework, baths for the boys, (with their icebergs we made in tupperware with frozen toys in it, they thought this was very cool) cooked lasagna YUM (and we know i don't brag about my cooking but this is really the best recipe ever). Dishes, cleaned kitchen, scrapbooked 3 pages for the teacher albums I am making for end of the year gifts from the class. Then bath and check emails from teachers. I meant to read some of my bookclub book but it is now 1130. Where does the day go?

Funny friends

So my friend sent me B's class photo that she ordered. (I never ordered since I take so many of my own.) I was cracking up because his grin is soooooo big. So B and his Daddy started talking about what makes you pick a friend. (him and his friend were both cheesing bigtime) He tells me, "He has to be funny!"

Ball

B watched Sports Center with his Daddy today and loved it because it shows all of the "bests" of the games and the "worsts" too. He told his Daddy to record it when we had to leave. He is so funny how much he loves ball. He loves to play it and can never get enough of it and he loves to watch it on tv too. If he isn't outside he is usually throwing a ball with his Daddy in the living room or throwing the ball against the wall to bounce it back to himself over and over and over and over again!

Tonights game

B played 1st base and did so good tonight. He made numerous outs. We were so proud of him and his team tonight.

Family and baseball

So B is playing for a travel ball team. His Daddy and I always knew he would. But at age 5. wow. I have to say it suprised me that he'd get noticed in a scrimmage game so soon. But it shoudnt. He has this natural talent. Now putting that with maturity is going to be the trick. He so loves baseball. Would play it every single day for hours on end. But he is also 5. Love him love him love him. Want so much for my boys to grow up happy and full of Gods love. baseball is such a goo family thing for us all. this team along with the others they are part of are going to be a great thing for our family since we love it all alot. Looking forward to it. You cant look at how much time it takes, but only how much family time it gives.

Living with boys

No lie. Yesterday we found a caramel apple from a Christmas party in the boys room in a bag. (Its April) Then today I was doing laundry and there was a frog sitting on top of my laundry looking at me. I just lost two years of my life.

Hugs

My kids came in to get a drink after playing basketball and I out of the blue asked them for a hug. B says to me (age 5) "Did someone die?"

Football

Today the boys played football with their buddy Grant and his Dad for hours. Even when we went inside to eat dinner B was asking when they could play again. He can never get enough ball!

Game

Enjoyed the Sounds game with friends tonight. The boys had fun. They got to eat hotdogs, drink slushes, and run the bases! Not to mention after the awesome fireworks.

Family

Enjoying the day with my sisters and mom. Lunch, shopping and movie. Then dinner with my fam.

Listening to my boys from the other room

"I wish I was in kindergarten again. It was alot easier." (my 8yr old says to my 5 yr old)
"Atleast you get icecream every day." (says my 5yr old- because in kindergarten you are only allowed it once a week and the older grades can have it every day. LOL!)

Teeth

M saw the orthodontist today for the first time. They said to come back in 6mo to see how more adult teeth coming in would effect everything. He wont need two stages of braces luckily. Just one stage. But things can change as the other teeth come in. So will see. B fell asleep in my lap right before the consult while we waited on the dr. Then he slept thru the whole exam. Kindergarten wears him out.

Dinosaur Egg

B came home from school looking like this. His Dad and I asked him if he was a doctor and he said, "NOOOOO". He was an archeologist. And he is holding his dinosaur egg he made out of paper mache.

Firsts

M and I had a great time with Mom and Dad and Dawson in Gatlinburg this weekend. B and his Daddy had a great time at baseball and Chuck E Cheese. Good bonding time for all involved. M got to ride a horse for the first time. And today B got his first homerun. (they are 3-1)

The words of a 5yr old

The boys were talking to their Dad tonight about what he does for a living and B says, "I'm going to play basketball. It's easier." : )

Update

Wed-Work, pick boys up, shoe shopping for the boys, dinner and then scrapbooking. Since our church had a special 3 day thing I went to yesterday they cancelled church for tonight. so the boys got to play with Ainsley while I scrapbooked tonight.

thurs-M got rained out tonight. Bummer! But gave me time to actually cook dinner tonight. Then let the kids take a bubble bath which they love.

smile for what you love

I was really proud of our team Monday night. They are 2-0 now. I love this pic of the boys smiling. B LOVES baseball and can't get enough of it!

baseball 2012

I worked from 730-130. I got to go into the community and do some marketing for our office.
Picked up kids and came home to do homework. Then baseball game for B. I had to work the cocnession stand but got to see alot of the game.

Family Sunday

Church, visit to Nanoos and then I went to see the movie The Hunger games with some friends. (I've read all 3books but of course the movie doesnt compare) Came home and played a little basketball with B and made eggs and bacon for dinner.
