Please
While I was folding laundry tonight, Michael asked if he could read a book to Blake instead of going to bed, so he read a couple of books to him. The first one was "Learning to Say Please" which Blake had picked out. I heard Michael reading it to him and then he would "explain and teach" why he should do it. I heard him say, "Like if you want a toy I have, then you ask me nicely and say please". So Blake says, "But what if you wont give it to me" and Michael says, "Then you walk away". LOL!!!!!!

Lessons
Blake started swimming lessons today. Yesterday was rained out so they just did safety worksheets. Blake cried at the beginning when I tried to leave him at class and I thought mabey he wasn't going to do the class but turned out he did great! Passed 5 of the skills today. Halleluhia! Michael should hopefully be able to start tomorrow since his ear infection seems better tonight. He was very sad he couldnt go today since he said it wasn't hurting but he needed a day of no pain all day before he could go. Pain free since 3, so my fingers are crossed!

hi
I was so tired when I wrote my blog last night that when I reread it today it didn't make much sense! LOL! I left out alot of details in between. So today I am trying to do my blog early. But yesterday, my thing to be thankful for was Blake telling me, "Mom, I don't like you, I LOVE you". LOL!

Pushups
Blake and Daddy do pushups together. Today Blake did 56! Impressive for a 4yr old. I love to look at his face when he concentrates on something. His cute little freckles under his eyes and above his nose. The way he sticks his tongue out when he is really concentrating. And his eyes get really big.

Lucky weekend
Had a great date night with hubby last night and a great girls night with my friend tonight. Brian took me to a play and dinner. Laura and I went for dinner and shopping. Kinda felt like Christmas. And the boys stayed both nights with their Grandpa. Their lucky weekend too!

HOT day!
Today was a good day. After work I took the boys to the water park since it was 97degrees today! Then we went to McD's to get a 1.00 sundae. yum! They played on the playground inside. Tonight was taco night. I love taco night. I finally got Michael to try one which he said (finally after a longgggggg time) that he liked it. They always eat cheese quesadillas when I make tacos. The boys played really good today and were very thankful for the fun stuff we did. They kept telling me "thank you mom" for this and that....and on their best behavior getting along good together.

Jewelry
Michael has been calling us every day while he has been gone at Nana's to tell us everything he is doing. And every day Blake asks me when Michael will be home. So tomorrow is the big day and when i told Blake he said "yahhhhh!" So funny.
Tonight Blake got into my jewelry box that their Nana brought me back from Japan. It is a music box and he was just fascinated by it and said , "That is so cool". He kept saying it was dancing. (like a ballerina usually dances in them but mine doesnt have a ballerina ,it has a piece that you turn it on with) He was trying all my rings on. I very rarely wear jewelry since having kids but today I put on my watch that I finally found in our beach bag from last year! And I had Brian put my bracelet on me too. I had my two rings I usually wear. And I put my necklace on that Michael bought me for my birthay that has a heart on it. Well for some reason, Blake payed attention to this and kept saying he wanted to be like mommy and wear jewelry. So that is what inspired him looking threw my jewelry box when I wasnt looking. It was so funny how he kept trying it all on and asking what each piece was. (emerald, ruby, etc) I told him we would have to find him a "boy" ring sometime.

Sports
Blake threw the frisbee with Brian in the backyard tonight and it was amazing how he just is a natural at throwing it without you really teaching him how to throw. Then Brian was throwing the football with Blake in the living room as Blake is running across the room he catches it! He is such a natural at sports! I still remember his proud face as we bragged to him about it!

Thursday
I asked Blake just now what to write in my blog and he said "I hugged Jimbo", "I got a slushee" and "I got my shapes right when we played school".
From the mouth of a 4yr old....
Him and I have had some good bonding times this week.
Today we went to the library for craft time and made a sunvisor. We also played school on the computers there. (they have great preschool and up games )Then off to the book store to buy Bday gifts and let Blake play with the big train station they have there. It poured on us and we got stuck in the cookie/pretzel place. Such a shame that we were stuck there for 30min. because we had to suffer and eat pretzels and slushes. When the rain cleared up we were happy (and full). Then at home we played with neighbor a little, went thru house to sell stuff at neighbors garage sale, played in sprinkler till it started raining AGAIN. Then had dinner and made Daddy a Fathers day (early) cake. Good times. Luckily Daddy got home from work after our bath so we could have a piece of cake with him before bed.

Balls
Blake is always walking around the house playing with a ball. He is either kicking it, hitting it off his head or chest, throwing it, playing basketball in the kitchen, or throwing a ball up and hitting it with anything he can find that is like a bat. Yesterday he used a plastic hammer as a bat. I see sports in his future!

Sweet boy
My boys make my heart swell. But today I am going to talk about Blake since Michael is at his Nana's right now. He has been precious today. Starting yesterday when we got home from our vacation (without Michael since he stayed with Nana) I had to keep hearing how he missed Michael. It was pitiful. When he first woke up this morning he said "Mom, I still miss Michael". So we tried to make it a big deal that he got to have "mommy and daddy time" with just us while he was gone. Unfortunately I also had to unpack, clean the house, do laundry, etc....which kept Blake from getting all of my attention today. So in between all of that, I would play baseball, hide and seek, take him to the library, go to McDonalds, etc....Apparently it worked out since at the end of the day he told me how happy he was to be with me and hugged me. Thank you God! Then tonight, Brian grilled chicken while Blake and I sat outside with him. As it got later we started to see lightning bugs so we chased them. Blake wasn't thrilled with touching them so we got them all and put them in a jar. He is so excited tonight to see them glow in the dark in the bedroom. His face was so proud! He just couldn't quit talking about it. Now he is watching the Braves with his Daddy and we need to get him in bed. Sweet boy.

Japanese dinner
What a wonderful week we had being on vacation. It was great too being able to hang out with the inlaws and sister in law before and after the trip to FL. We had shabu shabu tonight for dinner. YUM! I told Brian I was sad about our trip from Fl being over but my mother in law made it better by suggesting shabu shabu (Japanese treat) !!!! How blessed we are!

Slushes
Being in the car for 7 hours gives you alot of time to talk! So today I brought up how when I smell funnel cakes I think of my mom and asked the boys if they think of me when they smell something. They told me parks and riding their bikes makes them think of me. Then Blake said that slushes remind him of his Dad. (sometimes he takes them there for half price slushes after he picks them up from school) I always wonder what their memories will be someday. I asked Michael what his favorite part of our vacation was and he said "all of it". Blake said "swimming".

Water
Today we went to visit my aunt and uncle that live 15min. from where we are. It was so great to see them! They have a great house with a pool so the kids were occupied while we got to all talk. How great to live so close to the beach. I can't imagine it. I have always wanted to live close to the water. What a joy to wake up and see water every day. River, pond, ocean. Right now I am sitting here looking out the window at the ocean and it is so peaceful. If I could put it in my pocket and pull it out when I needed it! LOL!

Fun!
We got here late Saturday night so we only had time to get a pizza across the street and bring it back to our room. We were amazed at how big it was. It was a long drive to get there but the kids were pretty good. Sunday I felt bad for Brian because he had to go to the grocery store and move our stuff into our other room while I took the kids to the pool. We have two pools, one with a water slide and a lazy river. Then we came back to the room to see our amazing beach view from our new room. Brian was worn out so I took the boys for an adventure walk around the hotel and down the boardwalk. We stumbled upon a video arcade which is all the boys really need! I called Brian to tell him how neat the place was right on the beach. So he met us down there. Monday we went to the beach. How I love the beach. Then that night we went back to the video arcade. Tuesday we went to the pool all day. We also have a waterpark next to one of the pools that the boys liked. While Brian took a nap, the boys and I went downstairs to a craft room they have set up for the kids all day. They got to paint. Blake chose a train magnet and Michael chose a Bear bank. For dinner we went to Bubba Gumps which was great food and fun atomosphere. Brian and I knew most of the answers to the questions they asked from the movie Forrest Gump which is such a great movie! We've been trying to eat breakfast and lunch at our room so this was a nice treat. Today we went back to the beach. I would prefer to be there every day but the kids like the pools. Brian's friend and wife were in town so we joined them and some friends on the beach. When Brian left to go play poker with his friend I took the boys to miniature golf in our hotel. Then we went across the street to get a pizza and brought it back to the hotel so we could eat it while looking at the ocean. What better way to eat it? Then I took the boys on the beach for some pictures in their outfit that Nana bought them. While we were out their we heard a great singer at the hotel pool next to us. So we wandered over there to listen to him. On our way back to our hotel some kids were playing volleyball. I told the boys to go see if they would let them play and they did. They were very nice kids letting the boys take turns with them hitting the volleyball over the net and teaching them. So now it is getting late and we have yet to watch our movie we rented!

Brotherly Love
Michael really wanted to get the shooter but he didn't because he got his brother a spider ring. I was very proud of the boys today. We went again to the video arcade because Blake was saving up to get the switchblade comb he didn't have enough tickets to get last night. So tonight he earned enough plus more! I was very proud of Blake giving Michael some tokens when he ran out. Then Michael bought his brother (with his tickets) a set of dice, an airplane and a spider ring. Brian and I were so happy and proud to see them being so good to each other.

Happy Feelings
Tonight I was at a video arcade with the boys and I smelled a combination of funnel cakes and onion rings and I thought of my mom. It reminded me that I don't like when I can't talk to her. She is in Cancun and I hope she is having a great time but I miss her being here for me to talk to her. I don't always have something to talk about but when I am out of town I want to share it all with her. I guess because I like to share my happy feelings with her! : )

Taylor
Michael is so funny how he likes Taylor Swift. I think it all started because Ainsley likes her too but now it has become ajoke with us. Whenever he hears her songs he'll comment and he is always wondering why she doesn't win all the awards! LOL!

The random thoughts of a 4yr old
Tonight when I was laying down with Blake to go to bed, out of the blue he says to me, "Mom, why can't a gun kill water?" So then I try to give my best answer and he says "Because God made water?" Wow, the questions I have to look forward to! LOL!

I would love to find a company that can print out my blog for the year so I can give it to the kids some day. I've been looking into some different sites. It would really be great to have the pictures on there too printed out. Last night I went back and reread some of the stories and I loved seeing the pictures. I have always wished I had written down the funny stories the kids have told me or created and a now this blog is a way for me to keep up with writing those down! Some day I will probably read all this and cry! A good, sweet cry though!

Pirate Adventures
The boys played good together today. They were so imaginative with their "pirate" theme they played all day. Michael was the captain of course. They had on pirate hats. Blake had on a pirate eye patch and they both had their swords. Michael had on a white tshirt and sleeping pajamas so I put Blake into a white tshirt too with his sleeping shorts so they looked more pirate! LOL! They played with their pirate gold and even made pirate ships out of the plastic bins we use to put toys in. Michael came to me and had me make him an anchor for his boat. Michael told me he wants a "pirate " page for his scrapbook now! It's very cute how he thinks of "pages" he wants me to do! (Michael just told me what to name the blog today and he picked out the picture I posted)
