Loving life

Loving my boys. Loving my back has felt better the last few days. (although not at the moment but we will disregard that and pray it is because I have done too much today) Loving my parents came to the boys bball game Saturday and we got to have dinner. Loving the laundry is almost done after 212 loads today! ha Loving the boys got to go to their Grandparents house after school today. Loving B is doing so good with his sitewords the last week. Loving B is coaching B's baseball team and we got signed up today. (maybe my back will be better and I can help) Loving spell check since I can't spell maybe!!!!

Update on the weekend

Friday I took the kids to their school fundraising carnival. Saturday the boys and I went to watch their friends play against each other in basketball and then they had their games. They had 4granparents there so they were thrilled. Then we had dinner with the P Grandparents. Good time. Today we went to church and I saw a movie and had dinner with a friend while B and the boys ordered pizza and played Sorry.

Thursday

Had lunch with Heather today. Always so happy to do that! Made fish for dinner and then off to basketball practice.

Memories

B holding the book I have had since I was 3. My buddy Zackary gave it to me. It was so neat to see the date written on the inside of it and know my mom kept it all these years and had saved it for me in a box of pictures, diaries, etc.

M had to miss school because he had a cough. We had a picnic and had pizza and cookies while watching House of Anubis (mom, B and I).

Monday

M got to have a buddy from school come over for a few hours. They had a big time. When his Dad read to him at bedtime he fell asleep. B and I played his new Alphabet Bingo game I bought him at the consignment store today. I thought that might help him to learn to spell some words. Everything with him has to be a game. Then he wanted to stay up after M fell asleep so we did his sight word flash cards. He will do anything to stay up!

Weekend update

I have watched B's Jack and Jill recital about 15times now. It is so cute. It is so hard to stand in front of the whole class and I love his sweet expression at the end of the video where you can tell he is so proud of himself that he did it.

B did awesome in his BBall game Saturday. I think he had 10steals! His asst. coach came up to me at the end of the game and asked if he played football and I said no and he said "he should." haha He also finally got close enough to the basket (his team is the youngest in the league and not very good) to shoot twice. It didnt go in but it was so exciting he finally could shoot. Then the whole season they have only scored 2 baskets (same kid) in the very first quarter of the very first game ALL season and this Saturday they were able to keep the score 0-0 the whole game so they went into overtime. (which is awesome because they shut the scoreboard off alot since we are getting killed) We ended up losing in the 3minute overtime but it didnt matter. We were so proud of all the kids looking so much better this game and actually working as a team that it was still exciting. And B just really came out of his shell and was so aggressive it was unbelievable how good he did. We were so proud of him and I think we lost a few years off our life stressing over the game! : )

M's team won their game 26-5. He had two or three steals. He is excited because they get to go bowling before their next game with their coach haha. The coach is taking them out to bowl one game so that the basketball feels really light by the time they play their game! haha

In between the two games we managed to get to go have lunch as a family at Toots. (gotta love a free hotdog and icecream)

Today I took the boys to church , we had lunch with friends and then we walked around the neighborhood and a friend got to come over and play with them for a while. I have cleaned the house most of the day and still the laundry multiplies and doesn't seem to disappear. Ugh!

One son asleep and one almost there. Time for me to join them!

Friday rush

Today I helped at the boys school. B gave his Jack and Jill nursery rhyme in front of the classroom. He did really good and I will send the very short 10second video to everyone soon. Then we had piano lessons. When we got home we had dinner and had a little time for M and I to watch our fav show together....House of Anubis. Then off to basketball practice where B got his first bloody nose during sports. Wasn't too bad but his shirt is ruined. I liked that shirt too. B was really rocking and rolling at bball. He was getting shots left and right. I hope the game goes as well as the practice. So I took him for icecream to celebrate him doing better in school by trying harder and writing neater etc. Then we went to school for the end of movie night. M had been there since the beginning. Now The kids are asleep next to me. B is playing darts with his friends and I am going to bed exhausted.

1st appearance

B has to stand in front of his class tomorrow and do his first presentation. He is going to say a nursery rhyme. Hopefully since they teach them so young at their school to do presentations, that when he is older he won't be nervous like I was to speak in front of people. I remember when M did it a few years ago. All the kids got up there and did it except one shy litle girl who's mom came to sit next to her while she did it.

Clever

I am usually the crafty one in the family but when it comes to school projects my husband is definitely the clever one. This is year three of him and M doing a project for their winter carnival. Last year M won it. So tonight (in between us doing homework, play tryouts and church, hubby sat down to help the kids BOTH make their entry for the contest. I have to say I am impressed as usual. I will post pictures at a later date.

I read this today on one of the blogs I read. I was so impressed with the wording I had to write it down to remind myself.


Today was a day of acupuncture, grocery shopping, Yoga, cleaning house, doing laundry, making tacos for dinner and writing a budget. The kids went to their wonderful Grandparents after school and they helped them with their homework! It is amazing how much I was able to do while they were gone. And I know the kids love it because they get to show off their skills to them.

At bedtime their Dad read to M, and B and I played Site Words Bingo and did his index cards of site words. He is not a fan of reading so we have to turn everything into a game. Now Math he can knock your socks off. He can look at the board in the game of Sorry with his Dad, brother and I and he can roll a 12 and know exactly where he should land without counting. You have to see it to believe it but he does it all the time. I think I 've said this before in my blog too, but he walks around the house telling us what 8plus 10 is etc....and he loves to ask 25 times how long till we go somewhere and wants to know the SPECIFIC time so he can tell me how many hours till that number.

Tomorrow M tries out for his school play. He always likes to get a speaking part. He's such an entertainer.

Senses and Memories

M just told me that when he eats mint chocolate chip milkshakes that he thinks about me. There are so many things that make me think of someone I love or remind me of a time (like a song I listened to in highschool reminds me of events then) or a food (potroast and potatoes in the oven reminds me of mom and noodle soup and crackers with bologna on it remind me of dad). I love that our senses can make us think of something and make us smile. The sun hitting me on my face (no matter what the temp is) makes me happy. (although it helps if its 70deg) I smell Listerine and I think of my Grandma W. (It has to be the yellow kind) I hear the song "Hotel California reminds me of my friends Ang, Stac, and Dee. I taste chocolate rice krispy treats and i think of my mom. (and anything mint chocolate like the milkshakes that remind M of me!) I smell cinnamon and it makes me happy. Especially pumpkin spice cinnamon because it reminds me of the fall which is my fav time of year. I see pictures of my family and that makes me happy and remember the moments those pictures were taken in.

Sweetie

So B likes to come up with any excuse to stay up late. With tomorrow being a day off from school that was even a bigger encouragement for him. Well tonight his big bro spent the night with his Great Grandma so B was even more creative with his reasons of staying up. It is always a holiday for him when his brother is gone. He wants extra treats, sleep in mommys bed, etc... So after his Daddy and I played Trouble with him it was bed time. He wanted to stay up since brother was at his Great Grandma's getting to stay up late. So tonight I said Ok, we will stay up and read. So we googled a new game for his IPOD which he kept saying No i dont want that etc till I finally found a Site Word Bingo game that he decided he liked. He loved it and didn't want to stop playing it. It always makes me happy when he plays a game that is educational. He was so proud of himself when he'd get Bingo...my cutie pie. Now he is laying next to me trying to pretend he is going to sleep.

Our Saturday in January

I was so proud of B tonight in his bball game. He was running around stealing balls and he shot one that almost went in. Then we got pizza on our way home for dinner. B watched football with his Daddy while M and I watched "House of Anubis" that we started watching together each week last yr. B said he was "Daddys football buddy". I almost said that M was my "Anubis buddy" haha.

1st snow day

Our first day of snow. We were in the middle of homework when it was noticed. Well you have to allow them to go outside so needless to say we ended up doing homework till 830. Well shortly before 9 they closed the schools! So atleast we get to all sleep in!

Learning

I am really excited about this new erase board I bought for B today to help him practice his writing and spelling. He was really excited about it too but some of it may have had to do with he got to stay up late doing his site words and that is better then going to bed! I had M help him while I was making their lunches for tomorrow. I also got M some division cards so he'd have something and not feel left out and he did them all tonight! Amazing how good my boys are at math. They certainly do not get that gift from me. I was always good at reading and english but not math! Well, maybe more math then algebra. That's when it went down hill!

Visiting

We went after school to visit Frances. I was so proud of B doing his homework there to show off to her. She couldnt believe how much they have to learn in kindergarten now where as you use to just play. Lots of teachers have told me that it is 1st grade now etc...Homework every night. But we had a good visit with Nanoo and stayed till it was their bedtime practically. B is finally asleep next to me. He took a nap in the car on the way to Nanoos which makes it harder for him to go to bed at night so I put him in bed with me. He always goes to sleep quick in my bed. He's so cute laying here snoring a little. Sweet boy.

Monday

Today has been a good day with thekids. They were both smiling when I picked them up from school and before I even asked B said He had a GREAT day! Then I took them to the park so I could walk and they could play. Then we came home to do homework and piano practice. Now B is playing basketball while M watches cartoons. B loves to have a ball in his hands! M loves to have a remote in his hands!

Kid Heaven

After church I took the kids to a fun place for fun with their friends. They got to ride bumper cars, bowl, videogames, play on the slides and inside forts, shoot nerf balls at each other, eat pizza and play a game of Laser maze. I told the kids it was a Kid Heaven and they definitely agreed!

BBALL practice

B did so good at bball practice tonight. I told him before practice to just have fun and to not worry so much about everything and he ran around scoring points, smiling, giving kids high fives etc. I was so happy to see him happy and do so good. So we went for icecream on our way home.

K

First week back to school has been a little stressful on B. He cried most themorning not wanting to go. But when I picked him up he seemed fine again. they are so tired when they go to school. B looks like he will fall asleep on way home. (which he has) I am watching him sleep right now. So sweet and loving. I pray that God willbe with me as I raise my boys to be pleasing to him. I pray I say the right things to them and help them to grow up to be a Godly man. I pray I will always have a great relationship with them and they with each other.

We had a fun day today. We went for milkshakes with Jackson. We all got cookies and cream ones. We got to play on the playground for a while. Then we went home and we ate. B was snoozing by 6. Then we had to go to bed.

Hugging

Took the boys to bounce at the jumpy place and then go glow bowling with friends for their last "free" day before Christmas break was over. M was so sweet laying in my lap and huggin on me. I will miss when that stops. Mommas always love the hugging.

Break

Another day of B and I playing Sorry with the boys. They love that boardgame. I also caught up on alot of scrapbooking while the kids played with their friend A. I filled up their first finished album. (not counting the school ones I have done) I think I started it 2009 and ended it Dec. 2010. B and I went over reading tonight on the computer (he likes Starfall) and B read to M a book. Now B is snoozing next to me so sweet. Only one more day left before school starts up again. It was a very busy but good holiday break.

Holidays weekend

B and I were excited to go to the Music City Bowl with friends. We had a great parking spot in front of the stadium and our seats were really close. We tailgated beforehand. Our friends really know how to do it up. The kids stayed at their Grandparents and had a great time. Then New years we had a few friends over which included 7 kids running around! The men played darts and the woman played a Phrase board game. The kids played many different things! Its been a very busy holiday last couple of weeks. But lots of fun.
