Halloween

I love that my husband likes Halloween like my boys. I made mummy hotdogs and corn for dinner. Then I took the kids down the our road to trick or treat. Then hubby takes them the rest of the neighborhood while I hand out candy. (his idea) We had about 10 visitors but my kids got SOOOOO much candy and I still had half a bowl left of candy (not to mention all the chocolate I got on sale in the cupboard) It makes my heart big that my hubby likes to take the kids around the block. We tried to scare them after school with him jumping out but the kids didn't hardly flinch! And the kids were so sweet (especially B) giving us their candy afterwards.

Pumpkin carving

Here's our picture of the boys carving pumpkins Friday night. Saturday I took the boys to watch a football game because M's friend was on the team. Beautiful day. Then we went to a birthday party. Then I took the boys to the park to trick or treat with some friends. After that 4 of us brave moms took 7kids out to dinner for mexican! It was fun though and we only had a couple spilled drinks between the 7!

Today all four of us went to church and then we brought B home. The boys and I met friends for lunch and then we did some shopping errands. New basketball shoes for the boys, paid for M's birthday party and bought the tokens, B some new jeans, etc.

Now I need to clean my messy kitchen from the tacos I made while the kids watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown with their Dad. Bummer. They have self cleaning ovens why not self cleaning kitchens? : )

Friday

Today I helped at the boys school. M had to stand in front of the class and do his big book report. Wow, it was a lot of work for the week. Then B had his big Halloween party that I planned. The kids had a big time. We have a great group of kids and parents. Kindergarten is such a fun year. Then tonight B carved 3 pumpkins. We carved one that looks just like M's smile with all his missing teeth! Now the pumpkin seeds are cooking for 2hrs in the oven. Geesh, they better be good!

Our busy Wednesday

On Sunday the boys and I visited a new church which is really close to our house. It is a big church but I was amazed how many people we knew there when we got there. B was pretty nervous about it and always tells me he wants to go to "our church". (mainly because he knows friends there) I've been praying to know if we should make the change or not and where we should go. But the older the kids get the more it would be nice to be close to home even though I like our church and have been there for a long time. I sat in the kids "kids church" to check it out and when it was over B said, "Can we come back next week?" Wow. Talk about making my heart happy for an answer.

Tonight when we got home from church and I was helping the kids get ready for bed B said that his chest hurt. I said on the inside or outside? He said outside so I looked and he has a little bruise there. I said, "Did you fall ?" He says, "Probably." (This made me laugh....probably....because he figures he probably did since he's always running around". : )

We had a very busy afternoon today. When I picked the kids up from school we went to the library because our books were due. Then the kids looked around for books. B said, "Where is the book fairy?" (meaning the librarian! Thought that was so cute) We know the librarian really good since we go there alot and have since the kids were practically born. I love our library and I love the kids like to go there. They have great programs there for them. So they have a storytime that was while we were there and the kids wanted to go. I hadnt planned on going there but since we were there we went ahead and the kids had fun listening to books and doing a craft. After that we sat outside on the grass under the pretty fall trees doing homework since it was so pretty out. I was really proud of B (we've been telling him to slow down and write neater at school) because while we were sitting there doing homework he said, "Mom, Ms. P wanted to hang my work on the wall but I told her I wanted you to see it." (Aww, sweet boy.)

By the time we got home it was only enough time for me to change out of my sweats (we hit Sonic for their 1.99 kids meal on the way home. Thank you for drive thru's for busy days). Then we went to our friends house to pick them up on the way to church. Now it is 846 and I am finally sitting down to write this. I hear the kids in my bed giggling so I should go tell them to go to bed. (they don't realize I can hear them so good!)

Pumpkins

This is the pumpkin that M picked out when we went last week on his fieldtrip to the farm. The kids had a blast. The place was huge and that was the first time M and I had been to that particular farm/pumpkin patch. Huge slides, all kinds of play stuff and a big corn maze.

This is the first year I decorated the outside and inside of the house up really fallish. The boys and I had gone to a pumpkin patch and bought a bunch of mums and medium size and small pumpkins . We also bought a scarecrow. I was getting my house ready for my Thirty One party I had tonight. It looked really festive.

For school, B is going to be star of the week. It begins by you bringing two stuffed rabbits named Benny and Bonnie home with you in a Cars suitcase. It holds their pj's , toothbrush and a journal that you are to fill out about your weekend with them. B is probably the fifth one to do this so we got to read the other kids weekends that they had with the bunnies. You also have to put pictures of you at different places with them. So tonight we started out with them at the Haunted Hayride. I took a pic of the boys holding them (I held them the rest of the time which I imagine will be the whole weekend) but this picture is taken at our house in front of our Halloween decorations with them.

1st field trip

Last week we went to the zoo for his first field trip. M ended up having a bunch of kids want to do piggy back rides. The kids are so funny! Since M is one of the taller kids in 2nd grade it is hard for him to piggy back on someone else but he was a good sport letting them all piggy back on him!
