Love of books

I love this sweet pic of B. We went to Barnes and Noble for a storytime. My kids love getting books. Even though B can't read he always wants to get one too. It takes them forever to pick one out. But I am thankful they have a love for books. They were practically raised in the library. Even as babies I took them to storytime.

Warm and sunny Feb. day

Now that we are done with basketball we are on to baseball. B practiced with the kids for a while and then I practiced with them. We are supposed to get bad storms tonight and it poured this morning but luckily the afternoon was warm and sunny.

Ball

Little B had baseball tryouts this morning. He did soooo good. He said he heard another coach say, "Dang, he's good." : ) He was so proud of himself which I love. He's 4 and was probably in the 90% of the kids that tried out. He is a natural. Hubby went to the tryout to help pick out kids for M's team since he is assistant coach and the main coach couldnt make it. M didn't have to try out since he is going to play for our friends team so he hung out with B. Then while B finished up I took the kids to practice basketball at the park courts. Then off to M's basketball game. The Powers family came and M's team lost but they lost to the #1 team. Then we had mexican for my belated bday. Then off to our house for cake and B built us a fire. Enjoyed the day with family!

Week

Wow, what a busy week. Mon-Basketball tournament, Tues-Piano, Wed-Baseball, Thurs-Basketball. No wonder I am tired at 830. ZZZZZZZZZZZZzz

Daddy for President

M had a one on one training with a baseball coach tonight to help him with his throwing and hitting. Him and I both thought it was great. He learned a lot (and so did i actually). On the way home he was very excited to call and tell his dad. Then he says to me, "Dad should run for President. He'd be a good one and I could live in the White House." (they have been learning at school all about Presidents) He told me that one of the Presidents had cabbage thrown at him (but Daddy would never have cabbage thrown at him he said) and that one of them got stuck in a bathtub because he was so big. I learn something new every day with that child! LOL!

Bday

Tonight the boys and B went and got me a cookie cake, cards and scrapbook stickers. They said I get my big gift this weekend (a massager-B's idea). The cards the kids picked out are sooooo sweet. Little B wanted to get me one that had Charlie Brown on it because he knows i like him he said. M's was soooo sweet and too long to explain. B made hamburgers and fried potatoes for the boys and I. yum! I had lunch with Heather and Laura and we did pedicures. (they are soooo good to me!) Great girl time, great family time. Great day! And we watched the Never Ending Story which B and I watched as kids, and BOY did it bring back memories. Watching their facial expressions while they watched it and seeing their happy faces when they ran into the room to give me my cards and stickers made my heart swell! I just love them so much. And how lucky am i to have my hubby who cooked two nice meals in a week due to Valentines and my bday!

No school today

A day in my kids lives....

Storytime and craft with friends,

Mom buys me a book,

Chick fil a for lunch,

Play on the indoor playground,

Then GO to meet different friends at outside playground.

Come home to eat dinner and play videogames.

Go to basketball game.

Get icecream (since they won 1st tournament game)

Bedtime later then normal since we got home so late.

Too be a kid again..............

Light

B got tired of me saying ,"Don't forget to flush, wash hands, and turn off the light." A 4yr old solution.....now he doesn't turn ON the light.

Saturday

Big pancake breakfasts are our Saturdays. B is a master chef. Then we watched a movie together as a family. Then I went to take a shower while B and the boys practiced basketball outside. Then off to M's basketball game. Then dinner at Grandma and Grandpa J's house. Now B and I are home while the kids are hanging out at the grandparents house. Where did the day go?

Proud

My kids have said SO many things this week that I want to write down. I am so glad I started this blog over a year ago. I love that I can record some precious moments, stories, etc....I want to look back on them but I also want the kids to look back on them. Tonight the kids and I went to Jayme's house so I could scrapbook while they played with Ainsley. On the way home we had a talk about how some day they would look at the scrapbooks and remember the wonderful times we all had together. B says, " Mom, you and Da are the best Mom and Da ever". M says, "yep, you are." How lucky am I? This week I have heard both of my kids REPEAT things I say to them. You always wonder if what you say to your kids sticks in their heads and hearts (I can tell MY parents it does) but to SEE it (as a parent).....it just makes your heart swell. I am so proud of my boys. I am so proud of their Daddy.

Love him!

M said this to me when I was putting him to bed a couple of nights ago. "I'm kinda glad your back hurts on the bottom instead of on the top so I can still hug you and it doesn't hurt."

awwww (I of course didn't tell him it hurts on top too! No way I'd give up hugs!)

Love

I love the smell of roses.

I love when my kitchen is clean.

I love that B tells me all the time how he loves me, his Da and M. (just out of the blue all the time)

I love that I sat in my car today and could hear both boys when they practiced piano.

I love how the sun was hot and bright on my face as the kids and I sat at the park.

I love how B likes to read to the kids before bedtime.

I love how M loves to read.

I love to see how much B has learned in the last couple of months.

Valentines day

M tonight at bedtime, "Mom , I can't believe you are going to be 37. You only look 30".

B at dinner, "Dad you make the best steak. Nobody makes it better then you except Jesus."

We had the best Valentines day. I have to admit since I was getting a lovely spinal shot I wasn't exactly thrilled but my family turned it into a great one. The best I can remember. They came and picked me up from the doctor with a dozen roses. Then B made us a fire we all sat around while he cooked my fav, filet, corn on the cob and baked potatoes. The boys got me a sweet card and lots of hugs. And we ate our dinner to candlelight. It was perfect.

Whale

Here is the whale that M made with his Daddy for his Winter carnival at school. He won 1st place in his grade and got a bracelet to go and do everything he wanted for free.

Our old house

When I went to sign the boys up for baseball today, it was over by our old house and M asked if we could drive by our old house. Thought that was so sweet.

Thankful

I am thankful for my hubby giving me massages when my back hurts.

And for my sister in law for taking the kids to Grandpas to play.

And for my sister for watching the kids for my bday.

And for those who don't judge me when I complain when my back hurts!

And also proud of my hubby for volunteering to be assistant coach for both boys baseball teams.

I am thankful for my "mommy" friends.

Bad weather

I was thinking tonight as I watched the snow fall and got texts from my sister and friend saying it took them 3hrs to get home from work tonight, how lucky we are that we haven't HAD to drive in the crazy snow this yr. Since I haven't worked the last couple months and B can work from home we have been able to just stay home on the bad winter days.

My thoughts tonight

I was playing a game with B tonight in my bed while M got a book read to him by his dad. I pointed at something and B said , "Your nails are pretty." I told him thank you and he told me I should paint them because they look pretty with different colors too. The things kids notice!

I layed in bed with B while he tried to go asleep and there is nothing sweeter then looking at their faces lying that close to them.

M asked me today if God would be mad if someone changed their name. I asked him why he wanted to know and he just said he wondered. So I told him that as long as you were a good person I didn't really think God cared about if you changed your name or not. And then again asked him why he wondered. But again he said he just wondered. I wish I could read their minds sometimes! : )

Science kits

The kids love these kits that Grandma P gets them. And i love them because the kids will do them for a long time without thinking of video games! They have dug for dinosaurs, hidden treasures, Egyptian findings, pirate treasures and have done kits with beaker science experiments, making food, and our next one is to build a volcano!

Together

Thankful for a day that B doesn't have to go to work and we can all be together.

Our Saturday

I am thankful I got to go see Heather for a couple of hours this morning at her 31party. M had his basketball game where he got fouled and shot 2free throws. He missed them but the 2nd almost went in but he played really good today. The boys went to their Grandpas for a few hrs and I scrapbooked M's school scrapbook tonight till they came home.

Girls!

M got into the car today (with his buddy Ashlyn) to go to the jumpy place with them and told me that he was chased at recess today by McKenzie and Ashlyn and they were blowing him kisses. Geesh. He told me he was horrified by girls! : )

Dental Health month

B's teacher asked me today if i would speak to his class since it is dental month. So i have 7days to prepare something. B was very excited especially since he just told me a few days ago that I should be a teacher so I could be at school with him every day. When I told him I would be there next week to teach about teeth he said ,"All day?" (with a BIG smile)

Health

Today I am thankful for my families health.

Our Busy Tuesdays

This was our Tuesday ....(after school)

Library (kids do computer games their while I get B and I books. Sometimes they get books too).

Piano lessons (while one is in lesson the other one does their homework which they both had. When B doesnt have homework we play school)

Haircuts

Come home and eat dinner which thankfully i had in the crockpot. Pulled BBQ chicken for us and a lone chicken breast with only salt and pepper in small crockpot for kids along with mac and cheese, corn and broccoli. (Broccoli only for their Dad-wish the kids had his genes for veggies rather then mine)

Now it is 624pm.....
